The Community Computer Lab offers self-guided software tutorials and is free and open to the public. The computer lab assistant is available to answer questions as they arise. The self-guided software tutorials include:

 

Access PowerPoint
Excel Typing Master
FrontPage Windows
Internet Explorer WinWay
Outlook Word

 

 

 

Computer Skills Training Classes familiarize students with computer functions, common software programs and the Internet. The computer skills instructor can adapt the classes to the individual learning styles of the students. Computer Skills Training Classes require a referral from the NC Department of Vocational Rehabilitation or a private rehabilitation agency. Computer Skills Training Classes include:

Keyboarding Skills: Students will learn the functions and locations of the keys on a standard keyboard. They will develop data entry skills through hands-on practice.

Introduction to Microsoft Word: Students will learn the primary functions of Microsoft Word. They will be able to create documents as well as save and edit their work.

Introduction to Microsoft Excel: Students will learn how to use the primary functions of Microsoft Excel. They will create charts from collected data, demonstrate the use of formulas and functions and save and edit spreadsheets.

Introduction to Windows/Internet for Job Search: Students will learn the basic functions of the Windows operating system, including opening and closing programs, saving information, opening and closing Internet Explorer and maintaining a computer system. Students will learn to set up an email account, establish a resume online and complete online applications.
