Goodwill Industries through our Wheels to Work Program bridges barriers between home and work.  The Wheels to Work Program provides donated vehicles to deserving individuals. The Wheels to Work program offers qualified participants the opportunity to own a reasonable, reliable vehicle to maintain employment.  The program is not free to participants, but will always remain affordable.

Wheels to Work Program Requirements

Wheels to Work participants must be employed to be considered as a candidate. Additional requirements include:

• Valid North Carolina Drivers License

• Lack of sustainable transportation
Pay $500 process fee which covers motor vehicle record, criminal background check, notary and additional administrative fees

• Be able to pass a criminal background check with no pending charges

• Be employed at least 6 months prior to receiving a vehicle

• Employment verification

Income tax filing information

Ability to maintain insurance, take financial responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle

• Ability to obtain/pay for tags and title transfer

• Obtain a Consumer Credit Counseling Service Report - for an appointment, call (336) 373-8882

Additional paperwork and/or personal information may be required

 

 

 

How to donate a car to Wheels to Work:

Wheels to Work accepts donated vehicles from the general public, corporations, foundations, municipalities and other institutions. If you would like to give someone the keys to success, please consider donating a vehicle. The title must be current and presented with the car at the time of the donation. Cars that do not meet predetermined standards will be sold to benefit the Wheels to Work program. You may be able to deduct the fair market value on your tax return.
