The Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP) helps individuals accomplish vocational and personal goals through a comprehensive program that includes vocational evaluation, vocational skills training, work adjustment training and job placement services. Individuals with emotional, mental or physical disabilities can be referred to this program by the NC Department of Vocational Rehabilitation or a private rehabilitation agency.

Vocational evaluation is a process that determines a person’s work capabilities, interests and transferrable skills. Vocational evaluations may be requested from one to 30 days in length depending on the needs of the client and referral source.

Vocational skills training classes prepare participants for competitive employment. Students can learn customer service, food service, cash register operation, computer skills and forklift driving.

Work adjustment training offers participants the opportunity to gain real work experience in a light industrial environment. Participants learn all aspects of holding a job, including clocking in and out, taking direction from a manager, communicating with coworkers, efficiency and time management.
