In-Person Training: Employability Skills Session I

Employability Skills Session I on Monday, June 26 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Triad Goodwill Career Center at 1235 S. Eugene St. in Greensboro, NC.

Finding a job that is right for you can be fun and exciting. Goodwill Industries of Central NC strives to assist individuals with finding the job that is a right fit for them, as well as, employment that is sustaining for themselves and their families. During this course, individuals will engage in training about planning for employment and what to expect once you start your new job. Topics for this training include:

• Setting goals and working on a plan to accomplish those results
• Understanding networking and how it can help you in finding employment
• Identifying successful job-searching tips
• Learning the components of a resume and how to tailor it for employment
• Understanding the interview process and how to deal with uncomfortable circumstances
• Navigating the workplace once you get a job
• Understanding job descriptions, employee handbooks, and other documents you will encounter on your job
• Understanding the proper chain of command in a workplace
