As the autumn season slowly approaches, the time to refresh your fall wardrobe is already here! And believe it or not, this season’s hottest trends can be found at your local Goodwill. Today, we deep dive into five fall fashion trends from the runway.
All Things Red
According to Fashion Week, red is the color of the season, so I had to share this red jacket I thrifted from last year’s Thriftanista tour. This petticoat from Ralph Lauren is the perfect statement. I love Triad Goodwill’s stores because many of the racks are color-coordinated, so it is easier to find specific colors. I recommend going to the red tops section and browsing through EACH item.
Tweed
Tweed is making a comeback for this season, and I found this Chanel-inspired tweed mini skirt on a recent thrift trip at Goodwill S Eugene Street.
Tweed is a statement, so I recommend pairing it with solid, neutral pieces. You can find tweed by looking through the jacket, skirt, and two-piece set sections of your nearest Goodwill. I have seen it mostly in the jacket section, skirt section, or two-piece set section. I spotted another tweed set in the two-piece section at my Thriftanista Tour last year.
Blazers
It is no secret that blazers are a timeless staple for every season.
From the runway, blazers are becoming more fitted in the waist, and they are usually longer. Blazers with this shape create a beautiful silhouette highlighting the waistline.
I found this blazer on my Thriftanista Tour from this year. Blazers are also usually on a rack by themselves, making them hard not to miss!
Pleated Skater Mini Skirts
Pleated skirts have been very popular over the summer, and they are not going anywhere. Inspired by the preppy academic style, I found this slightly pleated skort from a recent thrift trip.
With the weather cooling down, I recommend layering it with tights to keep you warm and finishing the look with boots.
Leather Galore
Just like blazers, leather is another timeless fall staple. Leather pants, leather jackets, leather skirts, (and more!) are a fun way to look stylish this season.
Leather jackets in a cropped length have been trending, but any style or length will do the trick! Leather jackets are an excellent layer for dressy and casual outings. If you are looking for a jacket similar to mine, just browse the jacket or coat section in your local Goodwill. 😉
