Hurricane Helene

Goodwill Team,

The devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Helene has deeply impacted the lives of many in Western NC.  We want to keep you in the loop about Triad Goodwill’s efforts to help with humanitarian aid.

While we are not a designated relief agency, we have offered assistance to the NC Business Emergency Operations Center (BEOC) and impacted Goodwill organizations.   As donors and employees have dropped off items requested by the relief agencies, we have partnered with approved transportation vendors for delivery to designated relief areas.  We are continuing to field requests from partnering agencies and fulfilling them as we can.  The most recent donation was 1,800 pounds of coats and blankets.

There are several ways you can help.  If you would like to contribute items from the approved list below bring them to your local Triad Goodwill donation site by Thursday, October 17th for inclusion in the next vendor pick-up.  You can also make a monetary donation to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund at www.nc.gov/donate or through a charitable organization listed at www.ncvoad.org/members .

Currently the items being requested by relief agencies are:

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Toiletries
  • Infant essentials (diapers, wipes, baby formula)
  • Adult diapers
  • Tarps
  • Trash bags
  • Cleaning supplies

Thank you in joining us to make a difference.  We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support of our partners, employees, and community members.  Together we can help restore hope and bring relief to those affected.
