Careers On The Outside is designed specifically for individuals with justice involvement. Training opportunities incorporate strengths assessments, soft and concrete workplace skills, cognitive behavioral principles, job search best practices, placement assistance, and supportive services that lead to successful competitive employment.Â
Careers On The Outside acknowledges the individual experiences and identities of all people and provides a holistic, individualized approach to co-construct the well-being of men, women, and families.

Triad Goodwill is proud of the positive impacts of the Careers On The Outside program. Of individuals enrolled in Careers On The Outside in the last 2 years there is a 0% recidivism rate, or engagement in behaviors that led to a new criminal conviction; this is in comparison to national averages of 44%-70% recidivism (varies by circumstance, location, and time since release). Last year, individuals landing jobs through the program averaged a starting wage of $14.23, and 73% of all job placements were into permanent positions.
We believe that work can change lives, and this impact is compounded when a passionate, knowledgeable, and caring team is walking by your side.
The program offers:
Case management and barrier removal activities
Job readiness activities, including interview preparation, résumé development, essential workplace skills and basic computer skills
Career coaching
Access to background-friendly employers and job opportunities
Eligibility Criteria
A criminal conviction (no restrictions on type, timeframe, etc.)
At least 18 years of age
