SKILLS TRAINING
Looking to enhance your career prospects? Triad Goodwill offers specialized training to help individuals achieve skills certifications, licensures or degrees. Classes vary in dates, size and cost.
Current classes include:

Class A CDL Certification
Earn your commercial driver’s license (CDL) in as little as four weeks through our training program with Lorac Academy. Lorac Academy offers a turnkey educational experience with seasoned instructors and the most current information from the trucking industry. Lorac Academy has in-person day, evening, and weekend classes available.
Cost of the program is $3,500 for Class A CDL which includes physical exam, drug screen, permit, and skills exam. Scholarship and special discounted rates are available for qualifying students.
Students who complete the course will receive one on one placement assistance from Goodwill and Lorac Academy. Lorac Academy is committed to offering second chances to individuals with felony convictions.

Construction Trade (NCCER) Certification
Get started in a career in construction with this 10-week program in partnership with Tiny House Community Development, Inc. Participants will attend classroom training at the Triad Goodwill Career Center in Greensboro.
Classes meet every Monday-Wednesday, from 9AM – 12:30PM. Upon completion of the class, students will be able to sit for the National Center for Construction Education and Research Certification (NCCER), which is a nationally recognized certification that can help kickstart a career in the construction industry. The construction class includes OSHA 10 certification with a successful passing grade. New classes begin every 10 weeks. Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify.

HVAC Certification
Become an HVAC professional in as little as four weeks through Goodwill’s HVAC training program with Occupancy Heroes. Classes are offered in-person, Monday – Thursday from 9am-4pm at Triad Goodwill’s Greensboro Career Center.
Cost of the program is $2,500 and includes the instructional course, hands-on training, materials, and the final exam to obtain the EPA Certification and the HVAC controls certificate. Assistance obtaining employment opportunities at above-average living wages will be provided.

NCCER Electrical Level 1 Certification
Interested in starting a career as an electrician? In partnership with Tiny House Community Development, Triad Goodwill now offers NCCER Electrical Level 1 Certification Training. This 9-10 week course offers knowledge on safety for electricians, hand bending, wireways and fitting, conductors and cables, residential wiring, and so much more!
Classes meet Tuesday through Thursday, from 12:30PM to 4:30PM at the Triad Goodwill Career Center at 1235 S. Eugene St. in Greensboro. Funding is available for qualifying individuals.
