Triad Goodwill Success Story: Brandy Page
“I never planned to be in management when I applied to work at Triad Goodwill 11 years ago,” explains Brandy Page, Store Manager in Reidsville, NC. “Now, this is my retirement plan. My co-workers are not just my employees, they are my family.”
Brandy joined the Triad Goodwill family after learning about an open position from a friend of a friend at the Eden store. She applied online, and within a day she received a call from a Manager and was scheduled for an interview.
Over the next several years, Brandy worked in several different positions at various Triad Goodwill retail stores – all while taking internal training classes and growing her leadership skills. Moving from a part-time to full-time as a cashier, then up to Keyholder, then SSI, and then up to Assistant Manager. In September 2021 Brandy became a Store Manager.
Brandy knows all the challenges Retail employees can face, and thanks to Goodwill’s training programs and Goodwill Academy, she has learned how to overcome them, and now shares that knowledge with her team members.
“I’ve learned that hard work pays off. I never planned or even saw myself as a store manager, but here I am.”
Brandy credits her career growth to the training programs she took with the organization, and to her former store manager, Amy, who pushed her to take the initiative and grow her skills. “Without her, I would still be a cashier.”
Looking back at her past retail jobs, Brandy shares what makes working at Triad Goodwill so different – “Where else can you meet your CEO, your Vice President, or anyone from leadership, and have them REALLY know you? You can’t find a company that cares more.”
Brandy truly embraces the organization’s philosophy and culture of Together Is Better and leads by that example.
“I tell my staff that it takes a village to do what we do – and they are my village.”
