If you’ve walked through the doors of Triad Goodwill’s Retail Store in Asheboro you were more than likely greeted with a big smile and a “Welcome to Goodwill” from Ashley. Ashley came to Triad Goodwill in 2010 and started as a part-time hanger. Over the years she grew with the company, and in 2022 she was promoted to Shift Supervisor. She credits much of her growth and success to not only her hard work, but the leadership she has had over the years.
In September of 2022 Damien began pursuing his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Triad Goodwill’s CDL Training program. This program is available to employees and the public alike. In October, he graduated with his Class A CDL license.
“I knew I wanted to do more and needed something I was passionate about. I also needed something that was family-friendly,” explains Sam. “I learned there was a full-time production position open on Candace’s team, so I applied and got the job! I was elated and so happy to be back amongst my Goodwill family again.” But being Sam she made herself a goal – “I made myself a goal to be promoted within my first year. I wanted to be seen as a leader by assisting management with special projects and meeting deadlines. I was able to assist wherever needed.” In 2021 Sam was promoted to an Intake Specialist with the Career Development Services team. “I received words of encourage and support to apply from Candance and Chris Gorham (President & CEO, Triad Goodwill). That’s when I knew all my determination was worth it.”
Brandy joined the Triad Goodwill family after learning about an open position from a friend of a friend at the Eden store. She applied online, and within a day she received a call from a Manager and was scheduled for an interview.
“I never planned to be in management when I applied to work at Triad Goodwill 11 years ago,” explains Brandy Page, Store Manager in Reidsville, NC. “Now, this is my retirement plan. My co-workers are not just my employees, they are my family.”
In 2002, Moon moved from New York City to Greensboro, NC and was looking for employment. She learned that Triad Goodwill helped “put people back to work,” so she took a step forward- into the Career Center, and into a 19- year journey with the organization.
In January 2020, Ben Burnette took a chance and walked into Triad Goodwill’s Career Center in Greensboro to learn more about the Jobs On The Program. Since then, Ben has continued to show up, has grown within the organization, and continues to do so.

Travis* is a dedicated Goodwill employee who is building up work experience and saving to buy a car. Travis has had these goals in his sights for nearly two years and is taking steps to make them a reality.
