GREENSBORO, NC – Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina, Inc. (Triad Goodwill) is excited to share that they have been awarded a $40,000 grant from Truist Foundation. The Building Career Pathways to Economic Mobility grant will support Triad Goodwill’s skilled training programs which include Class A CDL Certification, HVAC Certification, and NCCER Construction Trade Certification.

“Our skilled training programs provide a rapid pathway to good-paying careers. This grant will allow us to enhance our services and provide additional opportunities to individuals traditionally underrepresented in the trades. We are so grateful for Truist Foundation’s investment in our community,” shares Jessica Schultz, vice president of Career Development Services.

Truist’s purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities. The foundation partners directly with nonprofit organizations that support wealth building, helping them innovate and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve.

Triad Goodwill’s first skilled training program began in 2021 with CDL Class A Certification training which is a partnership with TransTech. Since then, Triad Goodwill has proudly offered HVAC Certification training in partnership with Maintenance Heroes, and the Construction Trade Certification (NCCER)  in partnership with  Tiny House Community Development, Inc.

The organization is looking forward to serving many more individuals in its community thanks to this grant from Truist Foundation, and other generous donors, shoppers, and supporters.
