Host a Welcome Autumn Dinner Party with Me (+ Fall Outfit Finds)

My fiancé and I just bought our first home together. What better way to celebrate than hosting a dinner party with our closest friends to help warm our new home!

With autumn quickly approaching, I couldn’t wait to hop over to Triad Goodwill in search for some new to me décor for the new house. I knew exactly how I wanted my dinner table to look in my mind and was hopeful they may have some of those items … and boy, I was right!

They basically had ALL of it.

The fresh autumn season has me wanting to fill my home with hints of gold, hues of amber, and fall orange colors.

Right off the bat I found these beautiful gold plates. They are great quality and perfect for my table setting needs. The best part? They can be reused for Christmas as well! Each plate was only $3.99.

This wicker style plate worked wonderfully for my vision’s centerpiece. It was only 99 cents! and can also be re-used in my summertime dining room décor.

I was really hoping to find a few mason jars at Goodwill to try to make a shabby chic farmhouse centerpiece, and this one was found without the lid, making it perfect for only $2.99.

Floral arrangements can be super expensive, sometimes even faux floral arrangements. Luckily, I stumbled across these super cute orange leaf floral pieces to create my centerpiece. And I only needed four of them to fill up my mason jar.

White velvet pumpkins? Yes, please! These were SO cute, and I thought they would look fantastic against the gold plates.

Checkered mini pumpkins? Yes, yes! Had to have them since they were only $1.99 each. I thought this pattern would look excellent next to the gold plates and orange leave arrangements. One checkered pumpkin placed on each side of my centerpiece made everything pop.

I already had these 4 matching wine glasses from a previous thrift haul. Goodwill often has sets of glasses like these throughout their store. It can be so fun to hunt them. The thrill of the hunt is a main reason I thrift Goodwill so often, in addition to it saving me a ton of money of course.

My new house has several styles going on right now. Our den has a Victorian vibe, the living room has a floral feel, and our dining room has gradually moved towards a shabby chic farmhouse style.

All of these cute findings really brought the table setting together and added a touch of fall throughout my new home.

But what will I wear?!

While shopping for my dinner party I thought, wait, what am I going to wear!? And I remembered it’s Sweater Weather! My favorite time of year (besides Christmas). I immediately started digging through the racks at Triad Goodwill, and it didn’t take me long to fall in love with this cream sweater. Its slightly oversized fit and neutral color palette was just right.

I found this pair of boots for only $6.99, and of course they were THE perfect boot to pair with this sweater. Here’s the look put together with a basic denim.

Honestly, it was a toss-up between the cream sweater, and this lavender Universal Thread one. Both were so cute and affordable at only $5.99 for each. Naturally, I bought both.

But what if I want to dress down and just be comfortable? I found this perfectly soft cozy cardigan and just know I’ll be wearing this thing all autumn and winter long! I styled this casually with dark denim and a cute set of leather mules for a casual but put together look.

I especially love that this cardigan comes with a hood for those chillier, rainy autumn days.
