Just in time for Spring Cleaning!

GREENSBORO, NC – Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina, Inc. (Triad Goodwill) is reminding our friends in Central NC to donate to their local Goodwill organizations this spring to help keep items out of local landfills. Last year, Triad Goodwill diverted 11,473,621 pounds of product from local landfills through recycling and donation efforts – and this year we want to make that number even higher! Spring is the perfect time to unclutter your closet and donate your gently used clothing to not only help the environment, but to help people in your local communities gain sustainable employment.

“Donating to Triad Goodwill is a win-win-win,” explains Teresa Smith East, vice president of marketing for Triad Goodwill. “Not only are you cleaning out your closets, but you’re helping keep items out of the landfills, and then, because of your donations we can help people find jobs.”

East explains that Triad Goodwill functions in a cyclical motion that ebbs and flows. “Donate – Shop – Recycle – Train – Work.”

Triad Goodwill’s mission of improving lives and enriching communities through the power of work is possible thanks to the organization’s donors and shoppers. 85 cents of every dollar spent in their stores or online at Shopgoodwill.com/Greensboro goes back to the organization’s Career Development Services (CDS) programs. These programs include, Careers on the OutsideCDL TrainingHVAC/R Certifications, and no-cost online and in-person workshops.

Donating at Triad Goodwill is easy with 24 donation centers throughout Central NC that are open from 10AM – 6PM Monday – Saturday and 1PM – 6PM on Sunday. Donors can find a full list of items that can and cannot be accepted at www.triadgoodwill.org/donate/what-to-donate.
