Meet Mary!
Mary Nease is a local pink enthusiast, long furby-maker, upcycle-er, and highly-skilled fashion designer! Mary has a real knack for creativity, so we partnered with her to see what she could do to upcycle items from Goodwill. She delivered a truly “jeanspirational” final product that might just make you want to go to your nearest Goodwill and gather some denim!
The Process
Watch the following TikTok to see a visual guide of how Mary transformed the jeans! She shopped our stores for several pairs of jeans that she would later deconstruct down to just sheets of denim. She then used her own patterns to draft the top and skirt. The next step was to sew and add a front zipper. And-wallah! The outcome is an absolutely gorgeous set!
When discussing this project with Mary, she says the top was inspired by a $1200+ Vivienne Westwood top. With some time and a lot of skill, she’s created a dupe for much less!
